Employ a Future Leader
Future Leader Veronica Lloyd-Richards, Deputy Headteacher, Quintin Kynaston School, London
If your school fulfils our criteria, there are number of ways to employ a Future Leader
Offer a residency year
Many new Future Leaders will resign their posts and spend year one of the programme working as part of the senior leadership team of a residency school which meets our criteria. As well as benefiting from the work and impact of a Future Leader, these schools take on a responsibility to contribute towards her/his development by offering:
- A challenging role at SLT level
- Experiences of wider aspects of senior leadership beyond their day-to-day duties
- One-to-one mentoring by the headteacher and another senior school leader
More detail on residency schools expectations
Future Leaders are matched to their residency school following a lesson observation and interview. We are looking to recruit schools in our six regions (London, the Midlands, the North West, the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber, and the South Coast) will match them with participants for Cohort '14.
Fill a vacancy
If you are looking for a headteacher, a principal designate for your free school, or if you have a vacancy on your senior leadership team, we offer access to a specialised pool of talented Future Leaders at various stages in their career. These individuals have undergone a rigorous selection process, received highly specialised training and mentoring, and are equipped with the strategies, skills and vision necessary to make a lasting impact in your school as a senior leader. They are also part of a growing national network, from which your school could benefit.
Please note that we do not charge any fees for helping to place our participants in challenging schools and we take queries about employing a Future Leader all year round.
If you’re interested in any of the above opportunities for schools to work with us, please contact our Schools team on schools@future-leaders.org.uk
