Summer Foundations residential training
As part of your application to Future Leaders, you must agree to attend all of the following dates for Foundations.
Foundations training dates for 2012 are as follows:
- Saturday 9th June 2012
- Friday 22nd June (starting at 11am) – Sunday 24th June 2012
- Friday 6th July (starting at 11am) – Sunday 8th July 2012
- Monday 6th August – Friday 10th August 2012
- Monday 13th August – Friday 17th August 2012
The summer Foundations is an innovative intensive residential training experience. It comprises an induction event, two residential weekends and a two week residential in the summer. This high quality training model has been devised by educational leadership experts including international experts on high achieving schools in challenging circumstances.
The structure and content of the programme has been carefully designed to offer both a practical and inspirational experience. You will work alongside your allocated Leadership Development Adviser (LDA) and Peer Mentor in small groups for experiential senior leadership activities and will receive support and feedback during the training to prepare you for a successful residency year.
The overall objectives of the foundations programme are to ensure you:
- Are really challenged in your thinking
- Are ready be an effective senior leader
- Through the training and coaching support you will receive feedback so you can develop over the course of training
- Feel inspired and motivated to succeed in your residency and ultimately headship
- Have an ongoing network of support from your network of peers and the organisation itself
