Charity that aims to tackle educational disadvantage expands to the North East

Future Leaders is expanding to the North East in 2012 to help close the region's achievement gap and are currently looking for challenging schools and outstanding teachers to get involved.

The expansion into the North East is timely - according to data from the DfE for 2009/2010, while 58% of students from the North East achieve 5 A* to grades at GCSE including English and maths, only 27% of those in receipt of free meals achieve equivalent results.
