There are currently 24 Future Leaders headteachers and 2 associate headteachers.
The following Future Leaders have achieved headships ahead of schedule and are already making an impact in the schools they are leading:
David Millar (Future Leader Cohort 06), Oasis Academy Coulsdon, London:
Principal and Future Leader David Millar took over leadership of the school in January 2009 (the school had been taken over by the Oasis Academy family the previous year when results were 31% 5A*-C including English and maths and 51% overall). Last year, it achieved 37% 5* A - C including English & maths. This year, staff and students celebrated the outstanding 50% 5*A - C including English & maths (a 13% improvement from 2010) and 93% overall, a 42% increase from the previous year, beating all previous school records.
Andrew Day (Future Leader Cohort 06), Haberdashers' Aske's Knights Academy, London:
Future Leader Andrew Day was appointed Principal of Haberdashers' Aske's Knights Academy in January 2009, at a time when the school had achieved 19% 5A*-C including English and maths. In 2005, only 2% of our children gained the minimum standard. This year it achieved 57% - an impressive 16 percentage point increase on 2010 and the best results in its history and most improved school in the borough - showing the great strides the Academy has made to improve the life chances of all its students.
